Topic: Unleash innovation through interconnections

Empowering enterprise transformation through connecting people, locations, clouds, and data

Speaker:
Eric M. Hui, Director, Cloud and Service Provider Markets, Equinix Asia Pacific
OR
Gareth C. Bridges, Senior Manager, Field Development, Equinix Asia Pacific

The world is changing, so is the role of the CIO. As the business world is moving towards collaboration and personalization, CIOs are playing a more central role in transforming their organizations into business models and go-to-market strategies.

Gartner’s survey “Top predictions for IT organizations and user for 2015 and beyond” indicated 89% of business leaders believe that customer experience will be their primary basis for competition. To empower businesses to compete in this changing landscape, collaboration and interconnection between data and people—employees, partners and customers— from different locations is the foundational game-changing strategy.

Future interactions among people will be primarily digital and heavily influenced by mobile devices and analytics, the job to lead enterprises with this new game plan lies on the shoulders of the CIOs. During this discussion, Equinix will share their observations, and listen to your experiences and challenges, about CIOs taking up these new roles.

Topics to cover:

  1. How has interaction among people—employees, partners and customers—changed in the past five years?
  2. What evidence of transformation from traditional to digital enterprises have we observed in the Hong Kong market, or overseas?
  3. How will interconnecting people further open up new opportunities and possibilities for digital enterprises in the future?
  4. What are the new expectations and challenges in meeting them?
  5. How has such change brought a paradigm shift towards CIO’s role within the organization?
  6. How is the role of CIOs to enabling the interconnection between people and data?
  7. How can enterprises prepare to enable interconnection among different parties?

Topic: The power of data

Define new possibilities with predictive analytics

Speaker:
Greg Wong, Director Analytics, Centre of Excellence BI, SAP
OR
Charles Gadalla, Sr. Director, Advanced Analytics Global Solution Management, SAP

Data is everywhere. Almost every enterprise in the world is seeing its data volume expand, but very few are maximizing its value. Faced with increasing competition and digital disruption, enterprises are eager to realize the power of data to predict future trends and discover new business possibilities.

At this discussion SAP will share insights and best practices to unleash the power of data through predictive analytics, in order to empower local enterprises to access real-time business insights and make better decisions.

Questions to cover:

  1. Is detecting patterns and trends significant for your enterprise to drive business innovation and performance?
  2. What is the role of data in this process? How critical is it to detect trends and patterns?
  3. How powerful is the data within your organization? What are the major challenges to maximize the value of data for predictive analytics?
  4. How should enterprises prepare (both technically and non-technically) to develop predictive analytics?
  5. What are the best practices for enterprise to unleash the power of data to bring predictive analytics?

Topic: Software-define IT to drive innovation

Developing an agile infrastructure to meet dynamic business requirements

Speaker:
Joseph Chan, Territory Manager, HK & Macau, Veeam Software
OR
Raymond Goh, Technical Director, Asia & Japan, Veeam Software

The idea of software-defined IT has put forward as the ideal approach to solve the stringent limitations of traditional data centers. The concept takes virtualization to the whole new level, where most elements of the infrastructure are virtualized to bring high availability. The provisioning and operation of the entire infrastructure is completely automated by software.

In this increasingly fast-paced world of digital business, many enterprises are turning towards software-defined IT to achieve a high degree of flexibility. An agile infrastructure is not only critical for a 24x7x365 high availability, but also a foundation to meet the dynamic business requirements during business innovation.

The challenge is that companies may not be ready for such a transition. At this discussion, Veeam Software will share its perspective about software-defined IT and how it can bring forth innovation to Hong Kong enterprises.

Questions to cover:

  1. How can software-defined IT empower businesses to innovate?
  2. What are the major elements in software-defined IT?
  3. How does cloud computing and DRaaS play a role to develop software-defined IT that brings agile infrastructure?
  4. What are the common challenges for enterprises to embark on the journey of building a software-defined IT infrastructure?
  5. How does high availability and agile infrastructure help to drive innovation? Any metrics or ways to measure success in innovation and the contribution of software-defined IT?
