The annual CFO Innovation Forum series will travel to multiple locations across Asia throughout 2014.
Watch footage from the 2013 CFO Innovation Asia Forum in Singapore. The most authoritative forum brought to you by the CFO Innovation editorial team. After years of false starts and missteps, a strong case can now be made that the Philippines has truly joined the ranks of Asia’s tiger economies. For the first time, the country was accorded sovereign investment-grade ratings last year on the back of strong economic growth, fiscal and debt consolidation, political stability and improved governance. The formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) on 1 January 2015 promises to help sustain economic and business performance. It will give Philippine companies access to a combined market of 617 million people, 60% of them aged 35 or younger – but also open up the economy to potential competitors from other ASEAN markets. Strong domestic consumption paired with what is looking like a sustainable recovery in the US and parts of Europe plus a moderately positive outlook for Japan look set to help the Philippine economy to fulfill expectations of better than 6% growth until 2015, following a 7.2% expansion in 2013. Why the conference? The CFO Innovation Philippines Forum will focus on the opportunities and challenges to financial management in this new economic and business environment. Speaker presentations and panel discussions will address issues including:
- Transforming strategy-setting, financial planning and analysis, and risk management
- Maximizing working capital and ensuring availability of cash flow for operations and investments domestically and within and outside ASEAN
- Harnessing technologies and platforms like automation, business intelligence, Software-as-a-Service and cloud-based planning and forecasting
- Striking the right balance among differing stakeholder expectations, including stricter compliance demanded by tax authorities
- Preparing finance for future roles and helping the CFO with career and professional development, including becoming the next CEO
Who will attend? Conference attendees include CFOs, financial controllers, treasurers, finance executives and other executives from large companies, multinationals and the public sector. This event will challenge the CFO to rethink their role as strategic partner to the CEO and heads of lines of business.
