Integrating Ideal Enterprise Data & Cloud Management Strategies: Choosing Optimal Technology and Investment Framework
Cloud and data technologies have come a long way. More than technology deployment, the journey is towards choosing ideal technology and investment for expected outcomes and addition and value creation. This selection process is placing challenges on C-suites to innovate fast, improve cost efficiency and find new ways of value creation.
In the transition of data-driven to data-centric organizations, C-suites are becoming more collaborative in selecting appropriate cloud technologies. A business vision with diversification and expansion plans in short to medium term is the need of the hour to invest into technology and resources.
As the global big data and analytics market size is expected to cross USD 186 billion and public cloud service market exceeding USD 200 billion in 2019, there are a few shifts in business models of data centers. Enterprises work with technology providers as consultants and partners in jointly developing new backend and frontend connections and in promoting new offering to customers.
Data generation is peaking in the region and cloud service providers are offering multiplicity of servicing and flexibility in pricing, allowing organizations to focus on addressing customized solutions to business challenges.
This necessitates striking a right balance in investment, ideal technology and at what ROI.
At Data & Cloud Tech Summit 2019, you will be presented with practical insights on smart decisions for ideal technology investments, helping you to strike the right balance between insourcing and outsourcing.

In my opinion , Singapore’s challenge is shortage of experienced talent. While the universities have very modern and cutting edge programs designed to train and create a supply , experience comes from working with data and getting exposed to many different types and facets and uses of it. At this point, I think Singapore is relying more on experience of a few and second hand learning. Most people in the field (in my experience) are very fresh and while they are very savvy with the technology, how and where to use what is something that comes from exposure.
This is a challenge that will take at least 5 years to resolve IMHO.
